ElektroGarantie
ElektroGarantie is a collective producer guarantee system for providing the necessary insolvency-proof financing guarantee for B2C equipment in accordance with (7) section 2 no. 4 German "Elektrogesetz" (WEEE). ElektroGarantie is recognized by the responsible Clearing House, Stiftung EAR, and is open to all producers.

The German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act regulates the putting on the market, take-back, and proper disposal of electrical and electronic equipment. It defines various obligations regarding product properties, the return of old equipment and administrative processes, including the annual provision of a financial guarantee for producers of B2C equipment.

How can I apply for the ElektroGarantie?
Fill in the requested volumes and equipment types in our guarantee calculator, add your data and submit the application. You will receive an offer with a contract from us by email. Please sign and return the contract to us by email. We will then immediately provide the requested guarantee.
What happens after the guarantee certificate has been received?
If you have not already done so, create a user account for producers in the EAR system. Complete your data there and apply for the B2C registrations in the desired combinations of brand and equipment type with the respective annual weight volumes, which must correspond to the quantities applied for from ElektroGarantie. Then assign the ElektroGarantie and submit the application by pressing a button. The German WEEE Clearing House will then review and approve the application. This can take several weeks.
How does the guarantee update for a new year work?
We will remind you in good time after the summer by email of the upcoming guarantee update in the following year. Simply adjust the volumes and equipment types to your expectations and simply send us your new application. Unfortunately, the German WEEE Clearing House does not provide for an automatic extension of either the guarantee or the registrations.
Are EAR fees included in the ElektroGarantie tariffs?
No, the fees according to the fee ordinance, but also for possible recycling and further efforts for the management of the administrative procedures are not yet included in the guarantee tariffs.
Does the electrical guarantee also cover previous years?
The ElektroGarantie can be used to provide the financial guarantee from 2024. The available years are displayed in the guarantee calculator. For historical guarantee periods, it may no longer possible to cover all equipment types and quantities.
